Green Lake Park, also known as Cui Hu (English: Green Lake Park, or Cui Hu Park), is an urban park in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. It was established in the 20th century. The park consists of four small lakes connected by bridges in traditional Chinese architectural style. The lake was originally the city's reservoir. Chinese opera and folk music performances can be found within and around the park. The most famous building in the park is Jiangwutang, a tourist attraction. A statue of Nie Er, the composer of China's national anthem, also stands in the park. The park is located in the city center, close to Yunnan University, Yuantong Mountain, and Wuhua Mountain. Green Lake Park is surrounded by a ring road, along which are restaurants and teahouses (some with rooftop dining areas), shops, and hotels, including the upscale Green Lake Hotel and Grand Park Hotel (formerly Conrad Hotel). In winter, Black-headed Gulls migrate from Siberia to Kunming, settling in the waters around the city, making Green Lake a very popular seagull feeding area. Local vendors sell bread inside and outside the park, and visitors throw bread into the air or water to feed the seagulls.
