Green Lake Park
Green Lake Park, also known as Cui Hu (English: Green Lake Park, or Cui Hu Park), is an urban park in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. It was established in the 20th century. The park consists of four small lakes connected by bridges in traditional Chinese architectural style. The lake was originally the city's reservoir. Chinese opera and folk music performances can be found within and around the park. The most famous building in the park is Jiangwutang, a tourist attraction. A statue of Nie Er, the composer of China's national anthem, also stands in the park. The park is located in the city center, close to Yunnan University, Yuantong Mountain, and Wuhua Mountain. Green Lake Park is surrounded by a ring road, along which are restaurants and teahouses (some with rooftop dining areas), shops, and hotels, including the upscale Green Lake Hotel and Grand Park Hotel (formerly Conrad Hotel). In winter, Black-headed Gulls migrate from Siberia to Kunming, settling in the waters around the city, making Green Lake a very popular seagull feeding area. Local vendors sell bread inside and outside the park, and visitors throw bread into the air or water to feed the seagulls.
Yuantong Temple
Yuantong Temple, located in Kunming, Yunnan, China, is a historic Buddhist temple. It was originally built during the Nanzhao Kingdom period of the Tang Dynasty. After extensive renovations and expansions during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has evolved into its current garden-style layout with pavilions, towers, corridors, and waterside structures. The temple is renowned for its unique architectural structure, which is higher in the front and lower in the back. The main hall, Yuantong Grand Hall, is surrounded by water, making it unique among Chinese temple architecture. Inside the hall are giant pillars carved with twin dragons from the Ming Dynasty. Yunnan University Donglu Campus
Yunnan University (YNU) is a provincial public university located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. It is affiliated with Yunnan Province and jointly funded by the People's Government of Yunnan Province and the Ministry of Education of China. Yunnan University is a 'Project 211' and 'Double First-Class' university. The university was founded in December 1922 and began enrolling students in April 1923. It was originally a private institution named 'Donglu University', and its name has since changed six times. Yunnan University is also listed among the key national universities in China's 'Western Development Strategy'. Jinma Biji Archway
Jinma Biji Archway is a landmark building in Kunming, composed of two wooden archways, Jinma Archway and Biji Archway. The two archways face east and west respectively, and at specific times, the oblique sunlight creates the marvelous spectacle of 'Golden and Jade Radiance'.
