In May 2008, Lüshun Museum was rated as one of the first batch of 'National First-Class Museums' by the National Cultural Heritage Administration. In 2014, it was awarded the title of 'Liaoning Provincial Science Popularization Base' by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
